CASE STUDY: How I Created a Digital Product in 7 Days and Hit a 15.25% Conversion Rate Using Only Article Marketing
It isn't hard to make money online.
Most creators think they need a full funnel to make their first sales.
A lead magnet.
An email sequence.
Maybe even a webinar or sales call if they’re feeling ambitious.
I wanted to prove that wasn’t true.
So I ran a personal challenge.
My first Nicheless Experiment—to test a different model:
Could I build and launch a digital product from scratch in 7 days, promote it only with articles, and make sales with zero funnel?
Here’s what happened.
The Experiment
I run a Skool community for Nicheless Creators—people like me who don’t stick to one topic but still want to build systems that monetize their momentum.
Inside that space, I started something called Nicheless Experiments.
The idea is simple:
Pick an obsession, wrap it in a container, and see if you can turn it into money.
For the first experiment, I gave myself a constraint:
Build, launch, and promote a digital product in 7 days.
No funnel.
No email list.
Just build and ship.
That product became Article Assassin—a $9 course that teaches creators how to write belief-shifting, trust-building content that actually sells.
The Build Phase (Days 1–7)
I didn’t storyboard for weeks or script out a huge curriculum.
I didn’t wait until I had the “perfect” framework.
I went straight into build mode.
The product was structured around the exact process I use to write articles that attract the right readers and convert them into customers.
By Day 7, the course was written, edited, and ready to go.
The Sales Page (Day 8)
Once the content was uploaded to Gumroad, I opened ChatGPT and fed it everything I’d created.
I asked it to help me draft the sales page:
Benefits
Key points
Audience
Structure
It did a decent enough job, so I left it as it was and published it.
No fancy page builder.
No timers.
No split testing.
Just a single, focused sales page on Gumroad.
I set the quantity to 10 to add a little scarcity, and that was it.
The First Sale (Before Promotion)
I hadn’t posted about the product yet.
I hadn’t written a single article.
I hadn’t told my list.
Then, I got a notification.
My first sale came in through Gumroad Discover.
Completely organic.
I had written zero promotional content.
The sales page had just gone live 4 hours earlier.
And it converted.
That first $9 sale proved something big:
The idea was clear.
The offer was clean.
And someone wanted it enough to buy it cold.
The Articles (Day 10 and On)
I wrote two simple articles.
That’s it.
I didn’t hard-sell anything.
I just wrote some simple content and included a soft link to the product.
No list.
No funnel.
Just articles.
The Results
After 59 product views, Article Assassin made 9 sales and generated $79.74 in revenue.
That’s:
15.25% conversion rate
$1.35 earnings per click
$8.86 average order value (after fees)
This was with:
No warm-up.
No marketing plan.
No big push.
Just a product, a sales page, and two short articles.
The Real Lesson
This wasn’t a massive launch.
It wasn’t designed to go viral or hit five figures.
It was designed to answer one question:
Can I build and sell something useful—with no niche, no funnel, and no hype?
The answer was yes.
Most people think they need more traffic or a bigger audience.
But what they actually need is a product with a clear promise, a sales page that communicates it, and a consistent way to talk about it.
For me, that was article marketing.
The kind of writing that doesn’t just explain what the product does, but proves it through story, clarity, and structure.
And it worked.
Not because I followed a perfect system.
But because I moved fast, stayed honest, and let my content do the selling.
That’s something I can repeat.
That’s something anyone can repeat.
And that’s exactly the point.
You Can Do This Too!
This isn’t about being lucky.
This isn’t about having a big audience, insider connections, or a perfect brand.
It’s about momentum.
I didn’t overthink.
I didn’t wait for permission.
I didn’t try to build the “ultimate” product.
I picked a real problem I could solve, built something fast, and wrote a few honest articles about it.
That’s all it takes to start.
You don’t need more credentials.
You don’t need to niche down.
You don’t need to map out a six-month plan.
You just need one product.
One clear message.
And the courage to ship it.
If you’re reading this and you’ve been sitting on an idea, this is your sign to move.
Your first $9 product won’t change your life.
But it’ll change your identity.
From someone who’s waiting…
To someone who ships.
And from there?
Everything gets easier.

Articles posted where and how large is your following?
Thanks!!
Nicely done. And it’s a very valuable guide - easy to follow and implement.
You could build on this and add more resources, templates, case studies etc etc and have a premium option too.
